Welcome to the Mayan Riviera, a symbol of liberty, peace, vibrant emotions and authentic people!
The Center is Located at the Grand Oasis Riviera Maya
And among the many attractive places of the Mayan Riviera, it’s the very Akumal that we have chosen.
Situated in the heart of the Mayan Riviera, Akumal is only 100 km off the Cancun international airport, and exactly halfway between the Mayan ruins of Tulum and the town of Playa del Carmen.
Akumal had been one of the first discovered areas from the tourist point of view (in the 50s), thanks to its strategic position and enchanting four bays (Media Luna, Turtle Bay, Akumal Sur and Bahia Principe) that come one after the other for 5 kilometres protected by the running along coral reefs.

Despite the fact that it evolved a lot since 1950 and new resorts had been built for receiving tourists from all over the world, Akumal has managed to maintain that particular Caribbean relaxing atmosphere: white beaches rich in coconut palms, clean sea inhabited by almost intact colourful fish and corals, a small village capable of satisfying any wish.
The name of Akumal derives from the ancient Mayan language and means "the place of the turtles". Indeed, during the months of April and May the sea turtles come to the shore to depose their eggs that will open in July and August.
If you fly to Mexico to dive into the Caribbean reefs or to discover the magic Cenotes, to explore the wonders of the ancient Mayan civilization or simply to relax in a candid beach, Akumal is your ideal destination.
Exotic white beaches, Caribbean Sea’s turquoise waters, Coral Reefs of extraordinary beauty and the most famous archaeological sites of Mexico.
Mexico…Yucatan Peninsula…State of Quintana Roo.
Here we are at the Mayan Riviera, a succession of bays surrounded by 115 kilometres of turquoise sea.
The Caribbean Mexico, as many people love to define it, begins just south of Cancun, where the international airport is located, and stretches to the biosphere reserve of Sian Ka'an.
And along this coast you can visit small fishing villages like the quite Puerto Morelos, or you can have fun at the animated Playa del Carmen, swim with the sweet dolphins at Puerto Aventuras or offer yourself a day in the spectacular beach of Akumal, place of sea turtles’ reproduction.
Those attracted by the mysterious Mayan civilization can find, just south of Akumal, the famous Tulum that hosts the only walled ruin above the sea.
From the "castillo", you can enjoy a unique panorama of the world.
Leaving the sea behind, you will find in front of you the Mexican jungle, full of exciting adventures. In fact, it’s just in the middle of the abundant vegetation, that the striking Cenotes underground rivers are emerging, sacred symbols of the ancient Mayan culture, that you can visit with mask and snorkel or dive with air cylinder and supplier.
The Mayan Riviera offers all kinds of entertainment, particularly to the sea lovers passionately fond of snorkelling and diving.
